Just like last year, I aim to read outside of my cis-white-European-male bubble. I really enjoyed it last year. And I believe it’s quite important for my personal development to better understand the world. Because before, I was mostly just reading the classics. But what are classics really? They have all been written in patriarchal societies. Run by cis-white-European men. Just like myself. So it’s a pretty homogeneous collection of books. Even though I still love the classics, I don’t want to diminish their value, I think it’s cool to have a bit more diversity on my bookshelves.
