Dear friends,
We’ve not spoken in a while now. I hope you’ll forgive me for my radio silence, I was too engrossed in finding my place in Bulgaria.
But I’m happy to let you know that both Becky and I have been enjoying life in Bulgaria a lot. We live right next to a 2290m high mountain, which means we’ve been doing a lot of hiking and spending time in nature. Another amazing thing is that Bulgaria, contrary to Malta, has a train network. Granted: it’s not super well developed, but it works! And it’s super cheap! So we try to explore more of Bulgaria on the weekends and that has been really lovely.
Apart from that I have two major stories I wanted to share with you:
- I have officially become an ultra distance runner
- I have discovered the Bulgarian pastizzi

I am an ultra runner now
Read about my journey to become an ‘ultra runner’. Do I have an inspiring, emotional background story, or did I just do it for the hell of it? Find out here.

Is this the Bulgarian pastizzi?
A soothing story of the Bulgarian pastry that helped us feel welcome in Sofia.
