#42 Experimenting with photography

Gójjendaag,

I’ve got a few updates for you. I’m still in the Netherlands. It’s interesting to have been back for so long; it’s fun and a bit depressing at the same time.

Fortunately, I have plenty of projects to keep me busy.

I’ve been working on a new video, which I’ll be posting tomorrow (subscribe to my YouTube channel so you don’t miss it).

I’ve also been experimenting with photography.

I bought a very strong ND filter (ND100) to experiment with long exposure times during the day. I’ve posted all the experiments on this page, ranging from cityscapes with lots of pedestrian movement to industrial scenes across a large site.

I bought this vintage telephoto lens (200 mm) at a flea market for €10. I took it along to my sister’s boyfriend’s racing event to take some test shots. It was great to control the aperture and focus manually, whilst also applying some lessons on motion and exposure time that I’d learnt from the ND filter experiments. You can view the photos taken with the vintage lens on this page.
