I invited Malta’s highest-rated chess player to my soup kitchen to make a soup from his childhood while we talked about his life and his chess career.

The Anti-Hat Riots of 1973

I found this excellent reconstruction of the 1973 Anti-Hat Riots in the USA. Protesting against a proposed law that would have made it mandatory for men to wear hats in public.

A few things about Pride Month

Earlier this month my younger brother flew to Malta to celebrate the Euro Pride with us. He is part of the queer community and we had a great time celebrating: going from a drag bingo, to a cabaret show, to the famous Pride march.

As the older brother of not one, but two queer siblings, I think it’s important for me to keep learning more about this community. Most recently I learned the most from these two sources:
